About Me

MORGEN -Short film, 16mm analogue, 2019 I My position: Assistant director & Cast

Leon and Felix are planning something. Something terrible.

Something... that will happen very soon.

In this short film, a few fellow students and I, have dealt with the technique of analog film.

Because I had always shot with digital cameras before, the preparations and shooting this time were very different from my previous shootings.
During my first shoots, there was very little practice with the actors, instead the camera was turned on at the first take. Because this would be
too expensive for an analogue film, This film was rehearsed much more with the actors and also the script was discussed and
debated intensively beforehand. The whole shoot was planned in detail and also the crew had to work much more concentrated,
because every failed take cost money.

A special challenge, which we had to face additionally in this project, were the locations. Our story lives from many different locations,
which had to be very authentic, but nevertheless realisable through our limited budget.

From my experience with this project I got a different view on making films and since then I try to adapt the planning procedure of an analogue film to digital film productions, because I believe this increases the quality.
